Experience the Joy of Giving and attain Peace of Mind!

Jain scriptures are full of stories and sermons explaining the importance of Daan or Donations. A donation, at the physical level, lets you experience the Joy of Giving. At metaphysical level, Daan helps you exercise control over your ‘greed’ which is considered as another form of Himsa (violence). And so, our scriptures have encouraged donations as a means to cultivate the virtue of Ahimsa (non-violence).

Melbourne Shwetambar Jain Sangh (MSJS) is a non-profit organisation with an aim to promote the virtues and Jain culture among the members of Jain community residing in Melbourne. We need your physical, spiritual and financial help to support MSJS community and achieve MSJS Objectives.

Extending financial support helps us to undertake various activities to teach and encourage Jain culture, rituals and values among kids and adults.

Donations are not tax deductible.

Categories of Donations

All donations received by MSJS, will be utilised/spent as per wish of the donor through various accounts/categories listed below and same will be accounted as per established practices in Jain trust accounting.

What details need to be provided?

Name, address and contact details of the donor(s). Receipt will be issued in the name specified and email/posted to address provided. If you wish to remain anonymous, please let us know.
Please specify the category in which you would like to donate. If no details are provided, it will be accounted in Shubh Sarva Sadharan.
In case of cheque, please write detail either on back of cheque or on separate piece of paper and send it along with the cheque.
In case of direct bank transfer, please ensure to include the details in description/remark field followed by an email to [email protected]
